Dr. Patel is a residency-trained, board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician. He is also a member and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Currently, he is serving as the medical director in the emergency department at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. He previously served as the assistant medical director in the emergency department at Princeton Baptist Medical Center as well as Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Patel completed his training in Emergency Medicine in 2007 from the University of Texas, Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. During his residency, he was appointed Chief Resident and was honored with the ‘Resident Teacher of the Year’ award.
Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Science from University of Alabama at Birmingham and his Doctorate of Medicine from University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. While at USA, he was awarded the Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award and received a grant from SAEM to start an Emergency Medicine Interest Group.
