Dr. Neil Schamban is a residency-trained, board-certified Emergency Physician with over twelve years experience in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Schamban was brought on as CRMC's ED Medical Director in April 2008. He joined Pegasus after serving at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey as Division Chair of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Schamban recruited an all-residency-trained physician group to staff CRMC's ED, including physicians with expertise in ultrasound and pediatric emergency medicine. A Fast Track system implemented by the Pegasus team immediately led to decompression, reduced patient wait times, and improved customer satisfaction. Electronic medical record and point-of-care technology will also be implemented.

Dr. Schamban is certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Schamban earned a Bachelor's degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his Internship and Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT and a Fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children's Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.
