MRMC's Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and on holidays. The Emergency Department currently treats 15,000 patients yearly. Specialty services available at MRMC include a Heart and Vascular Center, GI and Endoscopy Lab, a Medicare/Medicaid approved Skilled Nursing Unit, excellent surgical services, Sleep Disorder Center, and a Geriatric Psychiatry inpatient treatment unit.

We are committed to reducing wait times to less than 30 minutes to see a physician 90% of the time, and improving efficiency to reduce length-of-stay to 2 hours or less. In the past, transfer rates from MRMC were near 5% and admissions were low at 6%. As more skilled ED physicians have been recruited, transfer rates have decreased and admission rates at MRMC have increased to 12%.

- Physician The 11-bed emergency department has an annual volume of 15,000 patients per year. The ED sees medium acuity cases and has a 13% admission rate. Moberly Regional Medical Center is a 103-bed acute care medical center that was recently named to Reuters’ “Top 100 Hospitals of 2011”. The hospital offers a wide range of services and is a “Cardiac Center of Excellence” with an on- site Interventional Cardiologist. Dr. Dennis Smith joined Pegasus Emergency Group in 2010 and currently serves as Medical Director at the Moberly Regional Medical Center Emergency Department. He is a residency-trained, board-certified Emergency Physician with decades of experience serving in the medical field in varied capacities. After his military service and just prior to joining Pegasus, Dr. Smith served as Associate Medical Director and EMS Medical Director for a busy Level III Trauma Center in Marinette, WI.
